The STLE Toronto Section uses events like this to help spread the word and also to raise funds. These funds are used to support the section activities and to provide donations and assistance to local universities and colleges. No money raised goes to salaries or expenses.

Abstract:

Electrical Transformers are essential in the transmission of electricity.  With the growing demand of electrifying transportation and increased demand on heating and cooling businesses and residences, power generation and transmission are expected to grow exponentially.  This short seminar looks at the typical analysis that is carried out, the diagnostic rationale, and how the data can be used for increased transformer reliability.

Michael D. Holloway, the Global Technical Manager for SGS of Geneva Switzerland

Bio:

Michael D. Holloway, the Global Technical Manager for SGS of Geneva Switzerland has 38 years’ experience. He is considered a subject matter expert in condition-based maintenance, reliability, lubrication, oil analysis, wear debris analysis, failure analysis, tribology, and technical writing. He holds degrees in Chemistry, Philosophy, Polymer Engineering and has earned the CLGS through NLGI, the CLS and OMA through STLE, and the MLE, LLA I&II, MLA I, II, & III, MLT I&II, VPR/VIM through ICML, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. Holloway has authored 9 books.
